Law no. 124/2007 entrusted the DIS with the task of promoting the culture of security.

In this context, mention is made of the following:

• In February 2011, the monthly magazine "Formiche" published an article titled "Security 2.0", written by the DIS Director General

• In January 2010, the monthly magazine "Formiche" published an article titled "A culture at the service of the country", written by the Delegated Authority Mr. Gianni Letta

• On 29 January 2010, the Director General of the DIS gave a lecture on "Strategic Intelligence and National Security" at the Link Campus University of Malta, Rome

• In October 2009, the Italian daily Il Tempo organized a forum on intelligence in Italy. The participants in the debate were Alfredo Mantovano, Marco Minniti, Professor Paolo Savona, Adriano Soi and Giuseppe Caldarola. The moderator was the editor in chief of Il Tempo Roberto Arditti with Filippo Caleri, Maurizio Piccirilli and Fabio Perugia

• On 11 February 2009, the Director General of the DIS made a presentation on "Law no. 124 of 2007: A laboratory for a new model of coordination" at the Specialization School for the Police Forces, Rome (text availabe in Italian only)
