Among the tasks entrusted to the DIS by the law there are the promotion of the culture of security and institutional communication.

The activities of the DIS in this area aim at:

• illustrating and facilitating the knowledge of legislation governing Italian intelligence
• illustrating the activities of the Italian intelligence organizations and the institutional framework of reference
• facilitating relations between citizens and the DIS
• promoting the diffusion and analysis of subjects related to the culture of security
