The CISR - Comitato interministeriale per la sicurezza della Repubblica [Interministerial Committee for the Security of the Republic] is a body in charge of advising, and making proposals and decisions regarding the lines and general goals of security intelligence policy
In particular, the CISR:
- makes decisions on the allocation of the financial resources of the DIS, the AISE and the AISI as well as on their budgets and final accounts
- indicates the intelligence requirements necessary for Ministries to carry out their government activities
The CISR comprises:
- the President of the Council of Ministers, who chairs it
- the Delegated Authority
- the Minister of Foreign Affairs
- the Minister of the Interior
- the Minister of Defence
- the Minister of Justice
- the Minister of Economy and Finance
- the Minister for Economic Development
The Director General of the DIS acts as the Committee's secretary.
