CISR

The CISR - Comitato interministeriale per la sicurezza della Repubblica [Interministerial Committee for the Security of the Republic] is a body in charge of advising, and making proposals and decisions regarding the lines and general goals of security intelligence policy

In particular, the CISR:

  • makes decisions on the allocation of the financial resources of the DIS, the AISE and the AISI as well as on their budgets and final accounts
  • indicates the intelligence requirements necessary for Ministries to carry out their government activities

The CISR comprises:

  • the President of the Council of Ministers, who chairs it
  • the Delegated Authority
  • the Minister of Foreign Affairs
  • the Minister of the Interior
  • the Minister of Defence
  • the Minister of Justice
  • the Minister of Economy and Finance
  • the Minister for Economic Development

 The Director General of the DIS acts as the Committee's secretary.
